Best Tea and Dorset Apple Cake

There are a lot of nice things to say about this establishment.

Firstly the location, tucked away behind a small door in Poole's old High Street. Its a secret that you know and others don't.

Its such an nice place to come into. Your walk through what is essentially a front door, through a narrow hallway and then into a really lovely little courtyard with various rooms to  sit in off the courtyard.

One thing I really love about this place is they serve tea in a tea pot. What's more leaf tea with a little leaf catcher in the top.

Some of the other teas are bagged, but even bags in a pot taste better. They have a great variety of teas here and a really quirky selection of pots. I will always go to a place with a bit of individuality, as the whole world is just too homogenised. Save us from the uniform High Street UK that we are now blighted with.

So what can you eat? Well definitely Dorset Apple cake.

When you start talking about Dorset Apple cake as the best, you are bound to rouse some controversy. All I can say is it is the best I have tasted. "Served warm with cream", as Tracey the owner tells me it is the only way to eat Dorset Apple cake. Substantial and yummy but light. Other apple cakes have reminded me of a slice of bread pudding, with a hint of apple.
