Best Pizza in Bournemouth

This week thanks to my friend Ashley we had our first visit to the Bournemouth Pizza Co and yes this is the best pizza I have had in Bournemouth or Poole so far.

Pizza is so simple; dough, usually a tomato base, cheese and topping cooked quickly in a very hot oven, that it becomes really easy to do badly.

Bournemouth Pizza Co take all the components and do them really well. Dough made daily on site for a really tasty base, some toppings you know and some that were new to me. All made with fresh natural ingredients and more importantly cooked in a traditional domed wood fired oven.

To drink they have a full range of San Pelligrino soft drinks, Peroni beer and from what I was told by Mel a decent red. There were some very tasty olives on offer  to nibble while we decided on our order and we had an excellent garlic bread ciabbata to start.
The restaurant its self is fairly small but well laid out with long benches down each side, you can see into the kitchen and the décor is simple but stylish. So this is all very well but what are the pizzas like?

As you can see below really yummy. The full menu can be found here

We opted for the Vesuvio (Spicy Italian sausage, red peppers, Red and green chillies)  and the
Al Cinghiale (Wild Boar salami, mozzarella and spring greens). Ashley had the special which was Stilton and pears which worked really well.
The Al Cinghiale which both Mel and I had was delicious and had a lovely fennel hint.

The Vesuvio actually ended up being breakfast and lunch pizza the next day as Tuesday is a bargain with 2 for 1 pizza on eat in and take away. It was also very good.

Personally I would have liked the edge crust to be a little thinner, but this is a small quibble for what was a very tasty pizza.
If you are still hungry at the end home made tiramisu (I had a taste and it was yummy) and my favourite local ice Giggi, which I reviewed here recently.

We were served by the owner and found the service to be both quick and friendly.
For a Tuesday the place was buzzing which is always a good sign, with a regular flow of eat in and take away customers.

Tuesday as I mentioned is a bargain with 2 for 1 pizza on eat in and take away.

So to sum up tasty, authentic, stylish, friendly and good value. What are you waiting for?
