Breakfast at Camden Bar & Kitchen Ashley Cross
A lazy Saturday morning and finally a break in the rain. So the perfect time to meet with friends for a lazy brunch.
I've enjoyed the Camden Bar & Kitchen in Ashley Cross for evening drinks and light snacks but so far haven't eaten a meal even though it is very close by.
Its got a nice vibe of its own and having lived in Camden Town for many years holds a certain nostalgia. Although the staff are young and often the place can have quite a young crowd it is very inclusive and whatever your age you wouldn't feel out of place.
We were a fairly large group and they just managed to squeeze us in which is a testament to popularity of the place.
So on to the important part, the food and drink.
As usual Mel and I had our usual soya lattes and the large with a double shot did not disappoint.
So on to breakfast dishes I have pancakes and bacon which came with syrup, cinnamon butter and lots of thick crispy bacon - yum. Mel had her favourite eggs Benedict which was served with a pesto. I had my doubts but she said it really worked.
Other had sausage baps, smoked salmon parcels on crumpets, veggie breakfast, the massive breakfast burrito and a traditional english which is very generous and comes with everything you would expect.
For Mel and I four large coffees and two substantial breakfasts came to £22. Great quality and everyone else seemed happy. In spite of being packed out service was very quick and with a smile.
High recommended.
Only downside is I enjoyed it so much that I forgot to take any pictures, so here are the links.
